I have found myself fielding dozens of phone calls from well-wishers over the last 24hrs. The outpouring of love and support has been a little overwhelming so this blog has been created to perhaps lessen the load on Mom and I.
I will update this blog as often as I can with Dad's progress. Please continue to pray for Dad and the rest of the family
With Integrity

ReplyDeleteThis is a message from a long time friend of myn:
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanne-
Yes, of course I will pray for the friend of your family. So glad I checked my facebook email (which is rare)-but God is in control. He orchestrates situations so the by prayer, faith and fellowship all will be good in His name. The Lord will take care of Eldon in Jesus name-AMEN! I am totally looking forward to hear the awesome testimony regarding his recovery. I trust that God will make all things well with your family friend.
Love-
Cindy
Thanks for the update! VERY well written, and enjoyable. You should consider writing for a living! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am glad your Dad is on the mend. Sounds like he has a long recovery road ahead of him, but it's great that they project he will make the "trip" ;-)
Best Wishes and Prayers for all of you!
Sincerely,
Jeanne Woodhead Theisen
Marlin,I am so glad to hear you Pop is doing "OK" Indeed miracles do happen! I knew you and your Mom would be swammped with calls and questions, and I didn't want to add to your stress. Thanks so much for taking the time to post on the blog. I was on duty that morning and saw the balloon cruising over town and a bit later heard the call come in. My heart skipped a beat when I remembered your Dad is usually the Crew Chief and I wondered if he was involved. I headed that way and arrived just as they were about to load him into the Mercy Flights helicopter. My fears were confirmed and with 25 years in EMS I knew it wasn't good. But if this was going to occure, it couldn't have happened in a better place. Right next door to a fire station with a Paramedic and EMT on duty! Please keep us posted and tell your Dad his FD friends are thinking about him and will keep him in our prayers for a speedy recovery!

Foster family. I wanted to pass on my thoughts and prayers to you and Eldon. Many folks in my organization who worked with Eldon have you all in our thoughts. Thank you for providing the updates.

Thanks for the updates and I look forward to many more positive updates. Eldon is tough and he will pull through it with many stories I am sure. Your family will be in our prayers as well. Great job with the Blog Marlin.
ReplyDeleteSandy & Marlin,
ReplyDeleteWe have spread the good news about the blog to the balloon community and friends who seek knowledge on how Eldon is doing. God is so good! I am so thankful to hear about Eldon's continued progress. I know that this road is a long one for all of you. As such, we will continue to keep you in prayer. Just know that we are here for you at anytime if you need us you just need to call. I realize that many folks have said the same, just don't forget to reach out for the help. We are so thankful for your friendship. May God continue to bless you both and Eldon through this period of healing and thereafter. Love you much! Terri, Larry & Riley Ratkoviak.
Edon joined Josephine County Search and Rescue in January and had recently joined the mountain rescue unit ( passing a tough physical fitness test in late April). We were devastated to read of the accident i the paper. You are so correct that the injuries he has sustained could have been so much worse and for that we are so grateful. Do let us know when he might want visitors or if there is anyway we can all let him know how hard we are all praying for his recovery.
ReplyDeleteWe are happy to hear Eldon is doing so well, our thoughts and prayers are with him, and hope that he has a speedy recovery. Sounds like a long road ahead, glad he has such great support of family and friends.

We are praying for you all! Please let me know if you need anything. I live in Medford and my door is always open. The house is available! I don't want to post my number on here, but my parents still have their same number and they will give it to you. You all are one fantastic family.

Dear Marlin, "Sister Kristiaan" alerted me to this on Friday as I was leaving town, and I just came across this blog...I know I just met you but wanted to say that I am holding your dad, along with you and your entire family in my thoughts and prayers, and will continue to do so. (Also, thank you again for coming to my assistance, I continue to be so very grateful!) Many blessings and wishes for a quick recovery. Kirsten
ReplyDeleteEldon is in our thoughts and prayers. I worked with him as his dispatcher for a few years before he retired. My son and I had the pleasure of running into him a few years ago during a baloon landing in our area. Eldon quickly put us to work packing up the baloon but not before he let my son and myself go for a quick ride while they moved the baloon to a better location. That was so cool. I doubt we are expert baloon packer uppers, but I know we will see him doing his thing again and look forward to helping. God Bless you Eldon during your recovery. Janice Hawley
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update on your dad. I am keeping him in my prayers (and the family, too). Jamie Bonner-Smith
ReplyDeleteI just heard yesterday and have been praying for more blessings and a speedy recovery. The wonders of prayer are truly incredible. We are all so blessed in knowing Eldon, no wonder there were so many miracles. Please keep the updates coming and I will keep praying for his recovery. Gay James
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Eldon is in our thoughts and prayers. We pray for a speedy recovery. Keep the updates coming. Claire & Tony Colburn
ReplyDeleteGod is faithful and looks after His children as we see from this accident. It's serious but I am happy to hear that internal organs appear okay. :)
ReplyDeleteI only met your mom and dad last year at the AIBF when I helped crew for ARKY butI have all of you in prayer as I know this is a tough time for all. Thanks for update.
I look forward to seeing him again this year.
sincerely Alyssa Johnson, Albuquerque, NM
