For the last 16 days we have been under siege in a foreign place. It is the land of tubes, monitors, sounds of machines, vocabulary challenges, (wish I talked Doctorease a little better) and daily motor trips to Rogue Valley Hospital. It becomes a time to think, to weep, to process all that you've heard, to praise.
In this uncertainty my heart is both broken, and yet sings with thanksgiving. Everyday we catch glimpses of improvement, and marvel at Eldon's progress. What an awesome God we have! Today, July 3rd, Eldon was breathing on his own for 8 hours!! His responses seemed more purposeful, from holding hands, hmmm I like that one:) to wiggling toes and pumping his right leg, and giving the Doc a thumb's up. The plan tomorrow is to do the same, NO breathing machine. The care team will also have Eldon sitting in a chair, this will help with his breathing.
THANK~YOU! Your prayers, your love, and your encouraging words have knitted a colorful hammock of strength.

Dearest Sandy,
ReplyDeleteYou are in my thoughts constantly. I so appreciate being able to keep in touch through your updates. I can only imagine how everyone is feeling, but still you and Marlin find the time to help us by writing your messages. Thank you so much. Please give Eldon a squeeze on his hand from me, too. I am looking forward to hearing when you and Eldon can have personal visits, and I will make my way from California to Oregon as quickly as I am able! All my love to you and your family.

Met a couple that crewed the WWJD in Albany 3 years ago. They hadn't heard but are now praying too. Sending our love and prayers to all of you from Everett, WA. Looking forward to getting back down there and seeing Eldon (Sandy & Marlin too).

Dearest Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI just heard this news a short while ago from Jody, and I've been praying for you all. I've been on that battleground where you are now and I didn't like it one bit. Different enemies pop up when you least expect them. So... I will continue to lift you up as the Lord brings you to mind and check progress here from time to time.
Love and Prayers,
Cam and Mary
