Yup you heard right. It looks like officially Dad will be leaving the hospital home and coming home on the 28th of August. An early birthday present for Mom. (BTW her birthday is the 31st of August and yes I have a present for her, do you?) Should be fun. His eye pressure is starting to look good and he is able to bend his knee far more. His leg is still not up for any weight, but its one small step in the right direction.

Marlin and Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI am reading each and every entry - usually more than once. I have tried to imagine what your past week must have been like. Now I can hardly wait to hear what your next few weeks will be like. Keep on keeping on!!!! You ARE making a difference. I am praying. And Marlin, please please, please keep the blog. I "need" it.
Annette
I am so happy for your Dad that he gets to go home! This is a wonderful time for everyone. I can't believe he had to be in the hospital for so long.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great gift for your Mom, to have him home before her birthday.
It is so awesome how you and yours have been there for him during his entire hospital stay. You have obviously gone above and beyond. This alone attests to the fact of what a wonderful guy your Dad is - that you are so caring and empathetic! We all know how awesome Sandy is also!
I know that the struggle has just begun. Like you said, it will be a lot more work without a care team. I hope that you will be receiving some visiting nurses also (home health aids). You will certainly need it, and it will help your Dad feel more independent also.
You are in my thoughts always,
Jeanne T.
